Comox Valley
Almost everyone has a personal story about cancer. It is a life-changing disease that may have affected you, your family, or a friend. On September 18th, 2010, our group of dedicated and inspired individuals, each with their own story, will take to the waters off Vancouver Island in the 1st Annual Comox Valley Kayak for a Cure event.
In British Columbia, there will be an estimated 21,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed in 2010. The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community based organization of volunteers whose mission is to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with, and fighting cancer. They invest in outstanding cancer research, provide reliable information on all forms of cancer, deliver community-based support programs and lead cancer prevention initiatives.
The mission of Kayak for a Cure is simple: provide an amazing one-day kayaking experience to help raise cancer awareness and donate 100% of the proceeds from this non-competitive and fun-filled event directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
