Hope Floats in Ohio | Kayak for a Cure™ Columbus
Kayak for a Cure is excited to announce it’s third charity kayaking event under the Kayak for a Cure™ brand taking place in Columbus, Ohio.
Led by long-time friend of Kayak for a Cure’s founder, Mark Starkey, Kayak for a Cure Columbus Director, Ken Murdock, looks forward to building out the latest addition to popular charity’s outdoor fundraising events. “Mark and I have been talking about bringing a Kayak for a Cure event back to Ohio since the very early days of the organization” shared Ken, “Ohio is where we both got in to the sport of kayaking and our respective influences that helped start the organization are all rooted here in Ohio, which means a whole to each of us as individuals”.
Kayak for a Cure™ was started in honor of Mark’s Grandmother who lives with Leukemia while Ken’s efforts are in honor of his father for 2008 and will support the National MS Society’s Columbus Chapter this year. Next year Kayak for a Cure™ plans to donate the funds to the American Cancer Society.
“I’m so thrilled to announce that Ken Murdock will be Director, Kayak for a Cure Columbus and lead our midwest initiatives with the Kayak for a Cure brand” continued Mark, “anyone that knows Ken knows that he’s a persistent, energizing, go-getter kind of guy and we are lucky to have him. We’re excited to have him step up and lead the Columbus event as we grow the organization in the United States and Canada.”
